Many Hands

Many attempts have been made to combat the issue of teenage knife crime, but it is still a very present force on the streets of the UK. This film addresses the issue of teenage knife crime from a much-needed, fresh, challenging perspective: it targets not just those holding the knife, but those encouraging them - particularly girls. It is a call to girlfriends, friends and gang members alike to set a new standard - to start making judgements on what is right and what is wrong, and ditching the losers with the knives. As long as knives are cool, fashionable and socially accepted, this devastating problem will not go away. However, if we as young people can change how knives are viewed, we can change how they are used. The central idea of this film is that everyone needs to take responsibility for their own involvement in knife crime, no matter how small a contribution they are making. Our video is a 1st person view from the point of the stabber and the victim and we think this will make people think twice about stabbing people. We wanted a hard-hitting video that would hit people hard and put them off committing stabbing offence. By making it dark on the video, it gives a more night-time view, when stabbings stereotypically happen, and we put the stabber in a hoodie as we think this hides his identity more and then he thinks hes going to get away with the crime. We also used some slow music, to represent the death of the man who had been stabbed.

Our video wanted to outline the importance of anti-knife crime. This appealed to us because we feel this issue projects a negative image of teenagers within the UK but we also felt it necessary to highlight this problem and still make it appeal to our target market of teenagers&..

Knife Crime

The film depicts the emotions that a boy called Tom feels after his girlfriend Lauren is killed after being randomly attacked and stabbed. It is meant to show the aftermath of a stabbing and how the people left behind feel. It shows that its not only the actual victim of the stabbing who feels pain, but all their friends and family too. They are left alone because of some moment of stupidity often carried out for no reason. We hope that the film will change peoples views in a new and interesting way by showing their thoughts after the stabbing rather than the actual event.

The Ripper

Our film is done in a 1950s style for a thriller detective film. We used a load of close ups to show things such as peoples faces. We used a chalk outline for the body along with the outline of the knife. We set it in an alleyway type setting, We ended the film with a message/information at the end.
