The Ripper

Our film is done in a 1950s style for a thriller detective film. We used a load of close ups to show things such as peoples faces. We used a chalk outline for the body along with the outline of the knife. We set it in an alleyway type setting, We ended the film with a message/information at the end.

Cut it Out

Short film about knife crime and how it can affect peoples state of mind. Shot in HD with a canon. This short is telling the story through editing techniques, by keeping things simple, black & white, very little sounds used, keeping the audience interested in the character, camera angles moving, so this keeps the audiences attention an focus on the character again. Sounds used as a under lying theme, to help carry the emotions and atmosphere of the film, e.g. the crowd noises, and the police siren, flashing lights, again I used editing to help make this movie more interesting for the audience to watch, by using transition sides to show his state of mind. Siding transitions at the end to show that he is possibly in jail for the crime he has committed.

Gillbrook against Knife crime

Students gave up their lunch times over a 2 week period to make this video. Learning a dance routine was not easy for them but they persevered as they thought it might grasp the attention of young people and provoke thought about this issue
